According to Han Fei Tzu, how does strict adherence to law, including the use of strict punishments, lead to social order?

  1. . It's no mystery.  All 'benevolent' dictators use this technique:

    "...When a sage governs a state, he does not rely on the people to do good out of their own will. Instead, he sees to it that they are not allowed to do what is not good." ...

    In theory, it's nice.  But in reality, it removes freedom from the people.  

    The ruler has absolute power, and 'Absolute power corrupts absolutely'.
