Hand Anatomy? What are these ligaments?

What are the ligaments in the Hand that are in between the Proximal phalange bone and the metacarpal bone in my pinky finger. That is where I suffered a jam and would like to know what ligaments are there.

Usually when someone "jams" their finger, there is injury to the the joint or joint capsule of the proximal phalanx and a metacarpal bone. If you've damaged ligaments in the area that you mentioned, then most likely you have sustained injury to either (or both) of the collateral ligaments.

Each finger and the thumb have ligaments on both sides at the phalangeal joints. They are called collateral ligaments and their main purpose is to prevent injury of the finger by providing stability, especiallly from excessive side to side force.
