Hand foot mouth and peeling skin in toddlers?

I have a call into the doctor to ask, but have your kids ever got peeling skin on the pads of their fingers and toes a couple weeks after having HFMD (hand foot mouth disease)? I just wonder if it's related.

  1. My daughter had HFMD two weeks ago and once the blisters in her mouth disappeared, her fingertips started to peel...so maybe there is a relation? I make sure to cut the excess skin off with a nail clipper and use vaseline/lotion every night, seems to be making it better.

  2. My son is currently recovering from HFMD and yes the skin on his feet and hands are peeling. His blisters dried out over time and eventually after every bath some of his skin would loosen up. I like to keep my sons hands/feet moisturized, so he doesn't peel it himself. But to answer your question, YES I believe it's related.
