anyone know the best paint to use and where to get it, i thought maby modeling enamel or acrylic and the colours would be a deep blood red, dark violet, dark leaf green and jet black in a matte finish

  1. I don't really understand a lot of the specific things you're referring to, but it's quite possible to make cameos with polymer clay.

They could be "sculpted" directly, or they could be cast from molds (...molds you buy, or molds you make yourself from more polymer clay or from 2-part silicone molding putties, over faces, etc. you already have or that you sculpt first).

After baking, the polymer clay cameos could be painted over with acrylic paints or even with other paints and colorants, or they could be made translucent or white (for the face or other focal image) and opaque and/or colored for the background, and look quite realistic.

If you're interested in those things, check out this page at my site:

(...click on the category OTHER THINGS TO MOLD, then scroll down to the subcategory "CAMEOS")

And if you're interested in painting on top of baked polymer clay, check out this page:

(...click on PREPARING THE CLAY and then on ACRYLICS at least)

  2. I'm no expert but for this I would say acrylic. I would love to know how you do it and how it turns out.
