Hand written cover letters?

Hi, I'm trying to get a very competitive job across in a specific industry. I plan on writing a dozen hand written cover letters, maybe just letters, and mailing it along with my resume to key professionals or recruiters... Is this appropriate ?

I agree with the other poster. Typing is more professional (and much easier to read, if your penmanship is anything like mine!  :)

No, it's not appropriate.  The better alternative is to craft each cover letter with company specifics such as:

Addressing it to a specific person in HR (or whomever will be reviewing your resume)

Including the exact job title in your opening paragraph

Relating past experience to how it will help that specific company

If you want to add a personal touch, leave a space to sign your name in ink.
