Any tips on handball D? Advice for 1v1 situations is appreciated, even though I know defense is a bit more team oriented. maybe things on dealing with breakaways or what to do in certain situations. the reason i ask for 1v1 type stuff is bc i only signed up for this in phys ed, not a school sport or anything. other people probably wouldnt cooperate if i came up with a plan. if you give team oriented stuff, thats fine too. ill just work with it.

  1. Handball defense is played in different formations... 6-0 (all 6 defenders wait on the 6 meter line and defend), 5-1 (one of them is a couple meters above and tries to disturb organization of attack), 3-2-1 (very deep defense, almost to half court, lot of pressure on the ball, but if not moving fast enough it leaves to much space). When it comes to 1-1, defensive player usually tries to make a foul and than offense has to start again from 9 meter line. On breakaways, best thing to do is to disturb an offensive player and hope he makes a mistake (don't make fouls, its 2 minutes penalty and 7-m shot!).
