Handbrake problems with my sunfire, help?

Was wondering if anyone has any info that can help. My sunfire, when parked on an incline, in 1st gear with handbrake on still tends to roll slightly backward... and occasionally i find it half way out on the street

There is a cable that is connected to your emergency brake that needs to be checked as soon as possible. You need to have the sensitivity reset.

WOW - how steep is this incline? Get your parking cable adjusted and put your car in reverse instead of first gear. Reverse is the lowest gear in your car and should prevent the car from rolling.

You will first need to check and or adjust the rear brakes first and if they are okay then you can adjust the handbrake cable.
