My father in law passed away last winter and we were wondering if it is possible to renew his handicap parking sticker. Can we just call to renew or would he have to be physically present, which is obviously not an option. thanks.

  1. Shame on you.  If you're not handicapped, you don't get a handicapped sticker.  You probably can't renew it for your dead dad-in-law anyhow.  Most jurisdictions require paperwork from a doctor.  If your pregnant condition requires a >temporary< handicapped sticker, ask you doctor to help you get a >temporary< one for yourself.

  2. If the person with the handicapped sticker is dead, he no longer has any use for handicapped privileges. To attempt to renew the sticker is fraud and punishable as a crime per the state statutes. Handicapped stickers are, in case you are not aware, for handicapped individuals.

If someone else in the family is handicapped, visit with the doctor and get the form signed to get a sticker in that person's name. It's very simple.

  3. If you are not handicap then you have to turn it back in.

  4. I'm not sure how to renew it but its wrong if you are not handicaped to have a handicap parking sticker. So either way you shouldn't do it.
