Hey everyone , I would like to get some more advice on handeling G loads other than leg/stomach sqeeze , and I would also like clarity on the Hick breathing method. I have already experienced 4 G's and I would not say it was hard for me to take , but I was wondering If I can get more advice on handeling G's such as 5 for a longer time period.

  1. You want to sustain 5Gs in a 172?  You're gonna die man.

  2. For sustained G, you need to practice the L-1 maneuver.  This is tensing your chest and leg muscles, and grunting.  Not unlike going to the bathroom, frankly.  It raises your blood pressure, a good thing in this situation.  A good L-1 will buy you at least 2-3 Gs.  The key is to anticipate and start straining as you enter the turn.  The other important issue is to get into a weight training program.  Upper body strength has been conclusively shown to assist in handling sustained G.
