Question:

Handling contact lens = are sweaty palms "clean"?

Hi. I'm a first time contact lens wearer and I've just started few days ago. I'm still not used to the idea of wearing contact lenses, and hence as a result, my palms will tend to become very sweaty when handling with them.

I know of the complications and infections when there's improper handling of the lenses...

I washed my hands prior inserting and removing of contacts, but because of my sweaty palms....are they "clean" enough or will I be exposed with higher risk of getting infections?

Thank you!

  1. Well, I'm guessing you're inserting the contact lens in your eye using your finger, so a sweaty palm shouldn't be a problem. I recommend cleaning your hands if they start sweating either way, just to be safe.
