Handling slugs, is it okay?

Question

My nephew just salted a big ugly brown slug and I picked it up with my bare hand and washed the salt off of water. Will it be okay? Also, I almosted puked my guts out trying to rid my hands of the nasty thick slime. But Iearned my lesson....never pick up a slug! Are slugs even poisonous?

The things are nasty so why would you even want to pick it up.

No unless there is some weird miracle, the slug will die. Some slugs are poisonous but the on you mentioned is fine.

No because people eat them! Escargot! I think that what they call it!

it may die. you will have to wait. also no they arent poisonus and are actually a famous french dish called escargo and they are very expensive .

PS they dont eat them raw they boil them and season them and put oil and stuff like that. doesnt look to great, but some people really like them.
