  1. sometimes when people are making a statement, other people would be raising their hands to either protest or give another view that is contradictory to what the first person just said.  Now, when a person makes a statement, and precedes or follows it with "hands down" means that there is no doubt to what they just said and that they don't want to hear any arguments.  Example:  "Wayne Gretzky has scored the most points in NHL history, hands down."  OR  "Hands down, Kobe Bryant is the best finisher in the NBA right now."

  2. 1. Used when talking about whether something is easily the best.

    2. When a team or a player of any sport wins something with very little effort/easily

  3. without a doubt

  4. example ...

That team is the best, hands down.
