Hanging my punching bag?

If I hang my punching bag from my basement beam will it ruin anything. And will it shake the upstairs when I'm using it? How would i hang it also?

The best way to hang your punching bag/heavy bag is to get a heavy-duty J lag s***w and s***w it into your beam, then hang your bag from the J hook.  This method will not ruin anything and shouldn't shake the upstairs.
