The Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) yesterday announced dates and venues for the short limited-overs series against arch-rivals Pakistan later this year. The schedule was announced after the BCCI got Indian home ministry’s approval in a meeting on Tuesday.
As per itinerary released by the Indian cricket board, the Pakistan cricket team will arrive in Bangalore on December 22, to play two T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals. The series gets underway in Bangalore on December 25, with a T20 International between India and Pakistan. The second T20 International in Ahmedabad, on December 27, will be followed by three ODIs in Chennai (December 30), Kolkata (January 3) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 (January 6).
This is the first time since 2007 that the nemeses will be playing each other in a bilateral series. The last encounter saw Pakistan touring India, and as per FTP it was Pakistan’s turn to host the series. But the Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to send its players to India in a bid to revive the bilateral cricketing ties between the two countries.
The PCB chairman Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397 also welcomed the announcement and said that the Indo-Pak series was long due.
"This is a great news for the people of both Pakistan and India," Ashraf told reporters at the Gaddafi Stadium. "You can't just clap with one hand. Both countries need each other and that strengthens the relationship. The series will be a big breakthrough and a revival of our cricketing relationship with India."
