Hank Haney breaks norms of the game and reveals Tiger Woods’ extramarital affairs in upcoming book
Although Hank Haney promised earlier in the year that his upcoming book, “The Big Miss”, written over his tenure he spent serving as during Tiger Woods’ swing coach, will not include anything other than golf, he now admits that there are details relating
to his personal life as well.
The book is set to release on March 27, one week before the first major event, the Masters in April and Woods is already feeling the dire fallout of the intricate details which are about to be revealed.
Haney writes that he was completely unaware of Woods’ indulgence in extramarital affairs when he joined the bandwagon in 2004 as a swing coach.
He says that Woods did discuss a few women in galleries during the events but never shared any further details about his private life.
Haney admits that he never wanted to indulge in personal life of his former pupil but now says that people should know the whole truth in order to ascertain their own views about the former world number one.
Haney writes, "I think when you're such a complex person, an absolute superstar, you can't ignore everything that happens off the golf course. To me, it said something about Tiger overall as a person. Clearly, there's a lot of things I left out of the book
that didn't have to do with golf. One of my goals in the book was to paint a picture and let people decide what they want to glean from it”.
Haney also revealed that Woods’ wife Elin Nordegren wanted Woods to quit mainstream golf for a period of two years after he officially apologised for his indecent behaviour in all this time-something which was far cry for the paranoid golfer.
Woods’ pursuit of greatness knew no bounds as he not only indulged in heavy workouts, he physically stretched himself to the extent that rendered severe damage to his left knee.
Haney also admits that the release of the book will further aggravate his relations with his former pupil.
He added, "My guess is that the publication of this book won't bring us closer”.
Woods and Haney broke off in the year 2010 one day after Woods decided to withdraw from the Players Championship in 2010. The reasons for the breakup were never revealed.
