Hank Haney reveals Tiger Woods went soft and numb after being exposed of his s*x scandals
Revelations about Tiger Woods' personal life continue with the release of the controversial “The Big Miss” as Hank Haney is sitting anxiously at the teller machine, counting the returns of his “hard work”.
The book was released on March 27 and probably people as well as critics are currently taking their time in swallowing the bulk load of information that Haney has unfurled in his latest dig on his former pupil.
Woods is now heading into the first major event of the year, The Masters, in the hopes of landing the coveted title for the fifth time in his stellar career.
However, the excerpts from the book are likely to be a major cause of distraction for the former world number one.
Haney writes that after being exposed ruthlessly of all his philandering in the past, he felt that his pupil has gone a little numb and has turned a little soft in his disposition.
Haney writes, "I think he has probably softened some - I certainly felt the change after that," the Sun quoted Haney as saying.
"But the cold side was part of what made Tiger such an incredible champion, and I never really judged him on that aspect of his character".
Haney, who remained Woods' swing coach for a considerable period of time, guided him to bag no fewer than six major titles apart from several high-profile victories in the sport.
He left Woods soon after Woods decided to withdraw from the Players Championship in 2010.
The duo developed severe enmity right after their separation which, after the release of the controversial book, is likely to last forever.
Haney writes in the book, "I looked at that coldness and thought it was one of the things that make Tiger what he is, just part of the whole package. But when the whole thing about his private life blew up in 2009, I just could not believe it".
Woods landed his much-awaited PGA Tour title last month when he landed the Arnold Palmer Invitational to bring an end to his two years old winless streak.
He has done well in the rest of the season, pulling in some strong finishes including the runner up finish at Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
