Hank Haney reveals intimate secrets of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren in “The Big Miss”
Tiger Woods’ former coach Hank Haney is now treading dangerous territory as the excerpts of his much-awaited book “ The Big Miss” are now getting controversial and personal to say the least.
Haney has now shed some light in the personal life of Woods and how he got to marry the Swede Elin Nordegren and the intricate details of the private life of the former number one, which has remained a top-secret till now.
Haney writes: “Tiger really seemed to enjoy treating her like one of the guys, needling her and even telling raunchy jokes around here, which Elin didn’t seem to mind”.
The book is scheduled to be released on March 27 and the golf critics have already started calling it the “Distractions”.
The book is slated to hit the stores just ahead of the first major event of the year, The Masters and the aftermath of the release is likely to have a severe blow on Woods’ performance in the event.
Haney further shed light on the details of Woods’ relationship with Nordegren and how the couple avoided heated debates in public and posed as the ever-loving married folks.
Haney added, “By the time she and Tiger married, she remained friendly but had become more guarded, even in her own home. She and Tiger developed a calm, almost cool relationship in front of other people, and conversations with them tended to be awkward
and strained. I never saw them argue, but they weren’t openly affectionate either”.
Woods and Nordegren parted ways in 2010 when the later filed for divorce claiming $100-million in damages.
The controversy raised its head for the first time in 2009 when Woods’ extramarital affairs broke headlines and he had to officially apologise for his indecent behaviour.
The 14-major-winner has been struggling to break his winless streak since the fall of 2009. He won the Chevron World Challenge last year but as the event is not considered a mainstream PGA Tour event, he is still widely considered as winless.
He performed well in Northern Trust Open through the three days over the weekend, but failed to overtake Phil Mickelson in the final round.
He outshone the field at the star-studded Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship but lost the final round to a surprise winner Robert Rock.
Wood’s has now worsened his already lingering Achilles strain injury in left leg and is hoping to return to course ahead of the Masters scheduled in April.
Meanwhile, Haney is hoping to break sales record with his controversial book set to release on 27th this month. Many of the critics as well as Woods’ himself has rendered it as unethical and unprofessional attempt of Haney to make easy money.
Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg has severely criticised Haney’s decision to release the book but all this has gone deaf ears on Haney.
