Hannah Chapin wins Girls 50 yard freestyle gold – High School State Championships, Wyoming
Hannah Chapin of BUF won the title of Girls 50 yard freestyle at the High School State Championships in Gillette, Wyoming USA on Saturday, October 27.
Chapin demonstrated her astonishing efforts in the shortest freestyle discipline as she went on a rampage and secured the title.
With her persistent efforts in the 50 yard discipline, Chapin managed to edge out her closest competitor over the finishing as she tapped the wall for gold medal by submitting an effort of 25.00 seconds.
The champion was followed by Lateesha Hiser of DOU, who stayed 0.35 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by reporting an effort of 25.35 seconds.
Hiser was chased by Katie Schulthess of KEM, who stayed full body length behind and surfaced on the wall for bronze medal by producing an effort of 26.16 seconds.
Fourth position of the race was obtained by Kelly Krause of JAC, who was 0.44 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing end by producing an effort of 26.60 seconds.
Afterwards, the crowd witnessed exhausting efforts of Carolyn Kennedy of WOR in the Girls 100 yard butterfly. Kennedy faced tough challenge from her closest competitor but sprinted her way towards the wall for gold medal.
With her gruelling pace, she remained just a touch ahead and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 03.05 seconds for the crown.
The gold medallist was followed by Katie Forton of LAN, who was 0.12 seconds slower and transpired on the finishing end for silver medal with an effort of 1 minute and 03.17 seconds.
Forton was chased by Becca Hamilton of JAC, who was half a body length behind and surfaced on the wall for third position by posting an effort of 1 minute and 03.82 seconds.
The third position holder was trailed by Sammy Crawford of LAN, who was 0.14 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 03.96 seconds for fourth position.
Furthermore, Chapin and Kennedy were delighted with their top finishes in their main events and received medals and accolades for their forms at prize ceremony of the tournament.
