Hannah Miley wins Women’s 400m IM gold – European SC Swimming Championships
Hannah Miley of Great Britain won gold medal of the Women’s 400m Individual Medley (IM) on fourth day of the 2012 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Chartres, France on Sunday, November 25.
The British swimmer faced tough competition from Katinka Hosszu of Hungary from the start but with her remarkable efforts, she managed to outsmart her over the finishing end for gold medal.
With her continuous efforts in the 400m discipline, Miley remained half a body length ahead of her following swimmer and reached the finishing blockade for gold medal by producing an effort of 4 minutes and 23.47 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Hosszu, who stayed 0.44 seconds apart and stepped on the victory stand for silver medal by producing a time of 4 minutes and 23.91 seconds.
Hosszu was chased by Zsuzsanna Jakabos of Hungary, who stayed 1.70 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the finishing blockade for bronze medal by clocking an effort of 4 minutes and 25.61 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Aimee Willmott of Great Britain, who stayed nearly seven seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and settled on the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer by posting an effort of 4 minutes and 32.56 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Barbora Zavadova of Czech Republic, who stayed 2.34 seconds apart and ended her swim in a time of 4 minutes and 34.90 seconds.
Zavadova was followed by Maria Vilas Vidal of Spain, who was 2.17 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and hit the finishing end with an effort of 4 minutes and 37.07 seconds.
Vidal was followed by Joerdis Steinegger of Austria, who stayed 1.20 seconds slower from her former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end as seventh position holder by clocking a time of 4 minutes and 38.27 seconds.
Last position of the event was secured by Alessia Polieri of Italy, who stayed nearly three seconds away and hit the wall with an effort of 4 minutes and 41.88 seconds.
Furthermore, Miley was happy with her accomplishment and raked medal after the session.
