Hannes Kaesbauer enthrals Beryno Jiann Tze Wong in opening round of 2012 Dutch Open
Men’s Singles shuttler Hannes Kaesbauer of Germany played his heart out and unseated Beryno Jiann Tze Wong in the opening match of Yonex Dutch Open on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
This hard fought showdown prolonged to 38 minutes as both contenders challenged each other in all areas of the game.
They entertained the crowd by showing great fighting spirit and finished this nerve-racking tussle with the final result of 21-15, 12-21 and 21-13.
The victorious shuttler prevailed in the opening and ending segments of the showdown while the Malaysian player could live his moment of glory only in the second set.
In first set of the match, Hannes was bit sluggish in the beginning as he dropped many valuable points but then he switched on his best and left his rival far behind with 11-8 total.
After the mid-game break, he kept on moving forward at steady pace and maintained his upper hand all the way to final moments.
Though, Beryno strived hard to narrow the gap but few unforced errors triggered the collapse in third quarter of the set. He surrendered after reading 15-21 score on the board.
However, he did not show any sign of bewilderment after this blow and managed to avoid a straight-set defeat.
This time he played with a positive approach and started the beating from very first stroke. He established an unassailable lead by registering 11-8 margin before the interval.
Later part of the game completely belonged to the Malaysian lad as he did not give his challenger even a single opportunity to bounce back.
Beryno mounted pressure with 15-9 and then swept the table with a nine-point difference in 21-12 total.
This revised match score position made third set crucial and both contenders put all they had to oust the opponent.
They remained close until 9-7 but then Hannes made difference by gathering five points in a row. He did not drop this pace and doubled the impact by piling up a mountainous figure of 18-11.
The German player capitalised this advantage and wrapped the encounter with a staggering knock of 21-13.
Now he is scheduled to meet Dicky Palyama of Netherlands in second round of the Dutch Open.
