The Bundesliga outfit has revealed that they will appeal against the harsh red card given to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Szabolcs-Huszti-c34444 in the game against Werder Bremen.
Die Roten have lodged an appeal against Huszti’s red card against Werder Bremen in the 3-2 win at home this past weekend. The player was booked twice for first taking off his shirt and second for his celebration with the fans in
the stands.
The home side won the game after Huszti scored an amazing winner in the dying moments of the game. The score was level at 2-2 when the attacker found the net with a sensational scissor kick.
The club’s sporting director Jorg Schmadtke revealed that the side will be lodging an appeal for the red card. He feels that the player was not warned by the referee and claimed that there is no rule to punish an individual two
times for one incident.
The chief insisted that Huszti has become a very important player for the team and admitted that losing the attacker for one game could be a huge blow for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492.
“After consulting with our solicitors, we have decided to lodge an appeal. We feel it is not permitted to punish two incidents in one go since Huszti was not actually warned or cautioned by the first yellow card. Our appeal has
the aim of lifting the second yellow card so that only one yellow card goes down in the statistics,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, referee Deniz Aytekin admitted that it was an easy decision for him as the player was celebrating for the winner. However, he stated that the decision was in accordance with the rules and wants the issue cleared
for the future.
“There has been a lot of clamour and discussion among the fans and the media that we are also keen on clearing this up for the future,” he concluded.
Hannover are currently on a dream run and are third on the Bundesliga standings with seven points from the three games played. They will face Hoffenheim next week in an away game.
