Hannover boss Mirko Slomka confident of playing in the Champions League next season- Bundesliga news
Hannover 96 manager Mirko Slomka has stated that he is confident his side will finish in the top-four at the end of the season to play in the UEFA Champions League next season. He admitted that it would be virtually impossible
to win the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich will be difficult to catch but is confident that his side has the potential to challenge other teams for the top-four spot.
Hannover have started the season impressively and are currently sitting in fifth place on the Bundesliga standings table with 15 points, four points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich. They have lost only once this season and have
won four of the eight games played so far in the current campaign.
Slomka claimed that his side has the potential and form to end up in the top-four at the end of the season and play in the UEFA Champions League next season. He insisted that the team is determined to perform at the highest stage
and have performed brilliantly in the past couple of seasons.
“I think that we will play in the Champions League at some point in the future. We are growing in confidence all the time and as a club, we are being taken more seriously now. We will never catch up to Bayern Munich but we can
be just as good as the rest,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The manager insisted that the club is out the building phase and can match the quality of many other teams currently playing in the German League. He hailed his side for showing great character and winning mentality and remained
hopeful of another successful season.
“We have finally ended our building phase, the squad is good and the team looks safe. At the moment, things are very enjoyable. They are very resilient and they have no arrogance,” he concluded.
