after a foul and he just intervened to protect his teammate. He denied saying anything to the German international and stated that the referee made the right decision.
Jerome Boateng was shown a straight red card in the match between Hannover and Bayern Munich in the first-half. He pushed Schulz and was sent-off for making physical contact with an opposition player. Bayern Munich manager Jupp
Heynckes criticized the Hannover captain of provoking Boateng and exaggerating the incident.
Schulz denied the criticism from Heynckes and claimed that he only intervened to make sure his teammate got the treatment from the doctors as Kroos and Boateng were surrounding him. He insisted that Jerome Boateng deserved to be
sent-off as he pushed him.
“Sergio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pinto-c30032 was lying on the ground after taking a knock and then two players, Toni Kroos and Jerome Boateng, lean over him and insult him. I stepped in to protect our player and then there was a bit of a tussle. Boateng then
shoved me. I did not provoke him but just moved him away a bit since the doctors wanted to get to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Hannover manager Mirko Slomka stated that he had told the fourth official to continue the play and do nothing as it was very confusing how many players were involved in the incident. The tactician admitted that he would have not
sent any player off and would have continued the play with a foul.
“I told the referee and the fourth official to do nothing and just let play go on. It was so confused. I would have just said 'play on' and that's the matter dealt with,” the manager concluded.
Hannover were only the second team after Borussia Monchengladbach to defeat the Munich giants this season. They are now firmly placed fourth on the standings table with 18 points from the ten games played so far.
