The Borussia Dortmund CEO is confident that Klopp would not part ways with the reigning German champions before 2016.
Borussia Dortmund CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, has brushed aside rumours claiming that Jurgen Klopp will not be taking charge at Chelsea by the end of this season. Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, is keen on bringing Klopp at the
Stamford Bridge after sacking Andre Villas-Boas earlier this month. Apart from Klopp, Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho and Barcelona’s Pep Guardiola are also on Abramovich’s radar.
Klopp has had a successful stint with the Borussians since taking over the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in 2008. The 44-year-old led the Westfalenstadion outfit to their seventh Bundesliga crown last year. He has now helped them advance into the final
of the German Cup and the team are currently favourites to retain the league crown.
These achievements prompted Abramovich to consider bringing Klopp at Chelsea. However, Watzke has already clarified that Klopp is not available until 2016 and therefore the Blues must forget about signing him as their new manager.
While talking to reporters amidst Chelsea’s interest, the Chairman further added: “It’s quite simple. There is no way he will be going to Chelsea. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 do not bother me one bit, because we have a contract with Jurgen Klopp until
the end of 2016. He will not be going anywhere.”
Chelsea signed Villas-Boas from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 prior to the start of this season but the 2010/11 Europa League winning manager failed to prove his worth in the Premier League. As a result, the Stamford Bridge outfit is not in contention
for this season’s crown and will be fighting with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Newcastle United for a top-four finish.
If the reports are to be believed, the Chelsea owner will not give up on Klopp’s chase until the season is over. Abramovich is ready to invest heavily in the manager’s acquisition provided Dortmund bosses let him go.
Klopp, though, has preferred remaining coy over his possible departure news and is fully focussed in helping his side towards their successive league crown and possibly the domestic double.
The Westfalenstadion outfit will next be in action against FC Koln in the Bundesliga and will either face Bayern Munich or Borussia Monchengladbach in the final of the German Cup.
