The shot stopper admitted that he will not play the game as a farewell match as he wants to contribute to a victory for the club. The player insisted that the team needs to secure all three points as the players should be full
of confidence ahead of the UEFA Champions League final next month.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man added that he is looking forward to the game and admitted that it is an emotional moment for him as he will play his last game for one of the best teams in Europe. He is expected a great atmosphere
for the game and is confident that Bayern will emerge victorious in the end.
“I certainly won't be contemplating the fact it's my last match. It's the kind of thing you have to forget once you're out on the field. I'm taking the game very seriously. We want to win. I'm looking forward to the match and the
euphoria, which will be huge after we made it to the final. It's electrified the whole city, and the atmosphere will be massive. I'll enjoy the game,” he was quoted as saying.
On the other hand, manager Jupp Heynckes hailed the professionalism of the player and revealed that Butt will play the full 90 minutes. He added that the player has been a great player for Bayern and the club will always remember
his services.
“He'll play from the start, of course. It'll be his farewell match at the Allianz Arena. He’s outstanding in his approach and behaviour towards the rest of the team,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich will host Stuttgart on Saturday, April 28, at the Allianz Arena. The team is currently second on the Bundesliga standings table with 67 points from 32 games played.
