Hans Vittinghus thrashes Michal Rogalski in 2013 European Club Championships – Badminton news
Denmark’s seasoned shuttler Hans Kristian Vittinghus showed his class in group stage of European Club Championships and overpowered Michal Rogalski on Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
This encounter was Men’s Singles tie of a match between Team Skaelskor Slagelse and UKS Hubal Bialystok badminton club and it remained in full swing for 32 minutes. The higher ranked Danish player employed all of his brilliance in the game and won this contest
with a result of 21-18 and 22-20.
Although the Polish shuttler put a great resistance throughout the tussle, yet luck was not on his side and he had to kneel down after losing both segments of the showdown.
The battle heated up straight away in the beginning of first set as Hans Vittinghus unleashed a series of power packed strokes and established a significant lead. He relished full benefits of this initial advantage and put his challenger under huge pressure
by doubling his total.
He kept on moving forward at steady pace and left his opponent far behind on the points table. This flow helped him to finish first half of the set with a respectable figure. After the mid-game break, Hans Vittinghus had to face strong resistance as the
opposing shuttler put a great show of badminton skills.
Michal, who was underrated earlier in this tournament, served the notice of his potential with a stunning performance in pressure situation. At first, he caught his competitor in the score position and then matched his rival’s skills in all areas of the
game.
However, his blistering performance could not change the match score position as Hans Vittinghus managed to pocket first match point with 21-18 total.
The following game proved a real test of their mental and physical strength as it kept them head-to-head all the way to final moments. Both contenders tried hard to oust the opponent but neither of them could enjoy a permanent lead.
Initially, Hans Vittinghus thundered but then he blundered just before the interval and allowed Michal to rule the court.
The Polish campaigner lived his moments of glory till the game point situation but then Hans Vittinghus unseated him with a concluding margin of 22-20.
