http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Hansen believes that the Reds overall performance in the current season has been impressive, and they have been unfortunate not to score too many goals in their Premier League campaign, despite creating multiple chances.
The Anfield team currently have 52 points from their 37 games, and are in danger of finishing the table on eighth place; their lowest standing in almost 60 years. In total, the Reds have scored 47 league goals, which is the fewest amongst the top nine teams.
However, Kenny Dalglish’s side have also remained a victim of bad fortune, as they have hit the frame of the goal, more than any other team in the Premier League.
Nevertheless Hansen, who made a staggering 434 appearances for Liverpool over a period of 14 years, felt that the Reds have the ability to beat any team on their day, and backed them to press for a top four finish next season.
He told the club’s official website, “The positives are we know on our day, we have a team that can beat anybody. We have shown and proven that. We've dominated matches, but the goals return hasn't been good enough.”
The Scott also believed that Liverpool have got one of the best defensive foundation in the league, and that their comprehensive 4-1 win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 on Tuesday at Anfield was a reward for their trademark attacking play.
The Scott also bemoaned the Reds bad luck in the entire season. Even though he admitted that they had been poor in a couple of games, he opined that they ended up on the losing side on a number of occasions despite playing better football than their opponents.
He added, “We have been unlucky - there is no doubt about it. We have hit the woodwork more than any other side, we've dominated matches and even away from home against the likes of Fulham and QPR you were thinking, 'There's no way we'll get beat here' and
then we've ended up with no points.”
Hansen also highlighted the fact that Liverpool made seven signings in the last summer, and that all the players who were featuring in their first season at Anfield, will only improve in the next term.
