Hanson hoping to occupy a space in the European team for the Ryder Cup
Only a little time is left for the most prestigious tournament in the world of golf, the 2012 Ryder Cup. This is going to be the 39th Ryder Cup this year. The venue for this auspicious event is the Medinah Country Club. The four day event is supposed
to start on the 25th of September and is going to end on the 30th of September.
The best in the world of golf are going to gather at this stage to fight for glory. With less than two months left for the Ryder Cup to start players are getting anxious. There are just a few spots and all the players are going to give it their best to occupy
these spots.
Peter Hanson is one of the players who is looking to appear in the Ryder Cup. Hanson has a chance to occupy the place as there are still tournaments left. He can make a spot for himself. He just needs to work for it.
Currently he is on the number eight spot in the ranking for the European team of Ryder Cup. He has three events left before the qualification of the Ryder Cup and has quite a chance.
In the Ryder Cup, the top ten will automatically qualify and then the captain of the team Jose Maria Olazabal will pick two players. The two wild card picks must be announced till the 27th of August.
In an interview Hanson said, “The top seven on the qualifying table - Rory, G Mac, Justin Rose, Paul Lawrie, Francesco and then Luke and Lee are near certainities to make the team”.
“Then there's myself, Martin and Sergio at Nos. 8, 9 and 10, with Nicolas Colsaerts and Ian Poulter 11 and 12, so it's all going to come down to these two weeks here in the States as to who qualifies for the team”.
“I'm under pressure from Martin and Sergio, but then I know if I have a good two weeks over here I should be fine. And after being in the winning team two years ago, I very much want to be a member of Jose Maria's side going to Medinah,” he added.
