Hantuchova/ Radwanska get the better of Gajdosova/ Klepac in 2nd round – China Open 2011
Eighth seeded Daniela Hantuchova with Agnieszka Radwanska outsmarted Jarmila Gajdosova with Andreja Klepac in the doubles second round of the China Open 2011. After battling for one hour and thirty two minutes on outdoor hard courts
of the National Tennis Center in Beijing, China, Hantuchova/ Radwanska won in straight sets of 6-4, 7-5.
The opening round of the match was initiated by Hantuchova/ Radwanska who managed to win their first service game and were capable of placing themselves on the scoreboard at 1-0. Shadowing behind them was unseeded team of Gajdosova/
Klepac, who also were successful in holding their first service game and placed themselves beside their opponents at 1-1 by the end of the first two games.
The score progressed on even terms as they kept matching a blow for a blow and by the end of the fourth game the scoreboard was levelled at 2-2, as both the teams were able to achieve a game on alternate serves. In the fifth and
the sixth game the teams broke each other back-to-back, not wanting the other to take the competitive edge; they again rounded off the scoreboard at 3-3.
During the following two games, the toe to toe run carried on well into the set and the last time the tied the score was at 4-4 in the eighth game. The last two games proved extremely lucky for the eighth seeded team of Hantuchova/
Radwanska, as they were not only able to hold serve in the ninth game but in the tenth as Gajdosova/ Klepac double faulted during their second serve, they gifted a crucial game to their adversaries, who were now one up in t he match with a 6-4 victory.
The head to head run carried well into the second set and the two teams matched a blow for a blow in the first six games to round of the score at 3-3. During the following two games the crews broke each other back to back, as they
did not want the other to take the statistical edge over the other and again squared off the score at 4-4.
As the two squads won on alternate serves in the ninth and the tenth game, the score was again tied at 5-5. Hantuchova/ Radwanska were quick to bag their sixth game and were now only a game away from their victory. As Gajdosova/
Klepac tried to smash a crosscourt it went long and they lost the match by giving their opponents an easy game at 7-5.
Next up for Hantuchova/ Radwanska is fourth seeded duo of Vania King with Yaroslava Shvedova.
