Happening RIGHT NOW: XP AntiVirus, cannot get rid of it?

I AM RUNNING NORTON INTERNET SECURITY RIGHT NOW, AND THE BACKGROUND IS STILL ALTERED. PLEASE READ AND HELP.

I don't know how, but while I was on the Web today, by Intrnet Security Program, Norton Internet Security, started displaying it's window saying: "Auto-Protect blocked security risk XPAntivirus. Your computer is secure."

Or, maybe that was a little later. Anyways, then I see that my desktop background us completely changed with a pop-up picture stating that my computer is in danger from spyware Win32.

I ran my Norton one time and only found TWO risks and it removed them. So then another window pops-up and says that there are 300,000 infected files or something.

I tried searching this on Google, and saw people asking how to remove it and programs to remove XP, but the thing is that I don't want to download any programs or buy XP.

PLEASE, is there a way to get rid of XP, anyway needless of my fears of downloading programs in fear they have viruses?

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT ARE WILLING TO HELP OR HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.

  1. As you probably already know, Antivirus XP 2008 or 2009 is not an anti virus, it's malware (basically a virus/spyware) Follow these instructions to remove it:

To remove it, I recommend downloading Malware Bytes' Free AntiSpyware. You can download the free program here: http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-set...

    Follow these instructions to use:

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

    * Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

    * Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.

    * The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.

    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

    * Make sure that everything is checked

    * Click Remove Selected.

    * When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)

    * The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

    Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

  2. XP Antivirus 2008 (XPAntivirus 2008) is a new version of well known fake spyware cleaner. This program have aggressive behaviour and deceptive advertising tactic. XP Antivirus 2008 displays false security warnings and malware detection reports to scare users into buying full version of this useless program. Likewise older versions, XP Antivirus 2008 can install other malware, capture browser's homepage, redirect search results and slow your computer. We recomend to remove XP Antivirus 2008 from your PC.
