Question:

Happy, "glowing" pregnancy: myth or reality?

I had this delusion before I became pregs that it would be this amazing, healthy time, and everyone would tell me I was "glowing." I'm only 10 weeks, but reality has set in harshly. I have indigestion, gas, constipation, and morning sickness, not to mention my face has exploded like a volcano. I eat healthy and exercise, and I haven't gained any weight or started showing yet, but I was just curious if anyone has actually experienced the glorious type of pregnancy I had imagined in my dreams.

  1. myth?

  2. It's my first time being pregnant and I definitely didn't know pregnancy could be so harsh on the body.  Good luck.

  3. lol It seems the worse you feel, the better people tell you you look. When you're vomiting and things all the time, it makes your cheeks rosy.

I put on about 6 kilos the second I fell pregnant - which is now up to a good 12 kilos. I feel so unsexy but of course my fiance says I've never been more beautiful.

I must say though, I've NEVER seen an unattractive pregnant woman - pregnancy seems to look good on everyone.

  4. I had a lot of people tell me that i glow when pregnant. I tell them it's just gas. LOL

I am the most unhappy pregnant person. There is so much that happens to your body that no one tells you about.

It may get better. you may end up being one of those cheerful, happy, glowing women.

  5. The first trimester sucks! I also had acne, fatigue and morning sickness, among other unpleasant symptoms.

I am into my second trimester now, and it is glorious! I feel great, healthy, energetic... and have been told that I'm glowing by many. I still have gas, but my skin has cleared up and I am finally starting to show.

I hope that in about a month, you'll feel fab too. Though everyone is different, I think that the second trimester is pretty good for most women.

  6. i was about 10-12 weeks pregnant and still extremely skinny, as i was only a size eight, im from ireland so dont know how the sizes work where your from!! lol but i did not have a bit of weight on and i did not show till i was around 6 months on, but at the 10-12 weeks pregnant i was at my staff party and my uncle walked in and straight away said i was glowing and looked lovely, then put in YOUR PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WITHOUT WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!! i knew i was but me and my boyfriend were not planning on telling anyone till i was further gone. so i dont know i suppose it depends on the person, we have had another boy since that and i dont care what anyone thinks i think all or most pregnant woman are glowing and beatifull when pregnant cause you know there is a little gorgeous baby in there! best of luck huni and im sure you look fab! but as long as you are feeling good and baby is growing fine i wouldnt worry about glowing!! (put makeup on if your having a bad day like i always done!!)xx

  7. Def. reality for most,  unfortunately not for others.

  8. It depends on the woman and the pregnancy. Usually after the first trimester the morning sickness subsides. The second trimester is usually when women feel (and look) their best.

  9. its a myth, i was actually just thinking about this today.i also have indegestion & gas but my 24/7 morning sickness is finally over!! i eat healthy and exercise  and my face has many volcanoes on it! im starting to gain weight but i dont really have a tummy so i just feel fat! it sucks.. i  just keep waiting for that pregancy glow to happen...

  10. It depends on your body, plus the worst part is the first few months when your body is changing and your hormones are crazy.  Around 5-7 months is when you get that glow.  Then the baby starts moving around and kicking the c**p out of your organs and you can't sleep at night or move as well as you used to and you're still constipated and gassy plus you have to pee every 20 minutes.

    Have fun.  :)
