they purr and knead. My cat is very happy.

they purr and rub up against you and wanna be pet by you all the time. thats when you know your kitty is happy and they like you.

Honestly?  I think everyone else has given great answers.. Happy cats definitely purr, knead, rub their faces against you...

But every kitty is different, and you know your cat best.  My older cat never purred or cuddled very much when she was younger, but over the years, she became much more affectionate, and now, she purrs.  My younger cat has always been cuddly, friendly, and loving, but he doesn't always purr, even when I know he's really happy.

So how do I KNOW?  I just do!  Go with your gut feeling. If you feel like your cat isn't happy, ask yourself why.  Maybe you need to clean the litter box more often, or give him/her more attention, or less... Trust your instinct.  There's no sure sign, but a truly unhappy cat will always let you know--by crying, destructive behavior, etc.  I think that with cats, more often than not, no news is good news.  If you have no reason to believe he's unhappy, then most likely, he's doing just fine!  :-)

They purr, they knead their claws, they drool, they rub their heads on you head. Mine likes to crawl up on my shoulders and curl around my neck- - -my living fur peice!

of my long experiance here r some of their actions:they close their eyes when they feel piece or self-confident,they purr when they warmly happy,and another sign,their ears don't target on a locations,if they target a location means they r nervous,,hope it works
