Harare expected to win Happy 70th Birthday Eileen Wedlock Apprentice Handicap
Harare is expected to prevail in the Happy 70th Birthday Eileen Wedlock Apprentice Handicap at Ayr in England on Wednesday, May 30, 2012. The winner of the class-6 race will walk away with a cash prize of £1,704.
The going will be good to firm in the 1 mile, 1 furlong and 20 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 17:10 GMT. A total of 12 runners have lined up for action at Ayr and their names are as follows: Barton Bounty, Indian Giver, Shaker Style, Harare, Naafetha, Deep Applause, Diamond Sunrise, Glenluji, Sheedal, Viking Dancer, Diamond Twister and Abernethy.
Out of the above mentioned runners, Diamond Twister might not be able to take part in the race. He is an experienced campaigner and could have made a solid impression today.
Looking at the performances of all participants, Harare seems to be in the best shape at the moment. He is carrying an excellent momentum right now, which will encourage the punters to risk money in his favour today.
The 11-year-old gelding has participated in 86 races until now, winning nine of them and finishing runner up on eight occasions. Other than that, he has also secured the third spot on 14 times, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting at the front.
The Karen Tutty’s trainee performed brilliantly in his most recent outing, as he won it by five lengths. He was not expected to deliver such a strong show, but he stunned everyone with his class.
This performance would have given a lot of confidence to Harare, thus it will be hard for his opponents to match him. He will be partnered by Gemma Tutty, who does not have an impressive record.
On the other hand, Barton Bounty might also manage to attract a few bets in his favour. He has entered 26 races until now, winning three of them and finishing third on the same number of times. Moreover, he has also secured the runner up spot once.
The Peter Niven’s trainee is carrying a very good momentum at the moment, as he finished third last time around. This shows that he has the tools to challenge Harare in the race.
