Harbaugh brothers face each other as Ravens host 49ers on Thanksgiving Day – NFL News
Brothers, Jim and John Harbaugh will be facing each other on Thanksgiving Day when Baltimore Ravens host San Francisco 49ers in one of their crucial tie of the current season of the National Football League (NFL), American football's
premier league.
This will be for the first time in NFL’s history that two brothers, John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh, who coach the Ravens and 49ers, respectively, are against each other.
The match is important for both sides: Ravens are sharing the American Football Conference (AFC) north with Pittsburgh Steelers while San Francisco 49ers with a win over Ravens and Seattle’s lost that weekend will clinch the AFC
West.
"It's an amazing thing," John said. "To say that you're not thinking about it probably wouldn't be real. It's a historic thing, it's very special. I couldn't be more proud of our parents or for Jim. I just think it's really
neat."
"As far as the nostalgia of it, I think it's very considerate of the NFL to fly us out there. I haven't seen him on Thanksgiving in I don't know how many years," Jim said. "There's no doubt we got the short end of the straw on
this one, but we'll see if we can make history."
John said that he expected to have a great game and he looked forward to it. He said both sides will be happy to face each other, however, one side will be disappointed; he was referring to the side that will lose the game.
Both teams are expected to come into the field with their full strengths with some injuries on both sides. Ravens, however, will expect that their Ray Lewis is fit to rejoin the squad.
Jim said that he would be utilizing every single minute in the practice session to get ready to face the Baltimore Ravens, who he reckons, is one of the strongest opponents.
Both brothers agree that the date scheduled for the match, on the Thanksgiving Day, was exciting one to play and provide a good match to watch to their fans. They appreciated the NFL office for scheduling the match on such an important
day.
