Wily Indian off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has claimed to have forgotten the rift with his http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians (MI) team-mate, Andrew Symonds.
The row between the two had sparked a lot of controversy back in 2008. Harbhajan was alleged of making racial comments on the Australian all-rounder during a Test match in Sydney, but was later cleared on the charges against him.
Both players are currently representing the same franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and have developed a good relationship.
According to Harbhajan, “The media wants to be a fly on the wall to see how we live under one roof, how much we talk, what all we share and how close or far we sit to each other. But let me tell you that now we both have a great sense of camaraderie and
really enjoy each other's company.”
The off-spinner further added, “What happened in the past has no relevance to the present and we both have come a long way from that entire issue. One should also not forget that playing for your country is like fighting on the border where the ultimate
goal is to win the game.”
Harbhajan also praised his Aussie team-mate for not making an issue of the past incidents. He claimed that the players were fully focused on cricket and their aim was to win this year’s IPL.
The 30-year-old had a lot of respect for Symonds and said that he was a fantastic cricketer. Both players have enjoyed a lot of success for their franchise in the lucrative league, as they are comfortably poised at number two in the pool with 16 points from
11 games. All players will look forward to lift their game in the final few games of the tournament.
Mumbai has qualified for the play-offs, but the team is not taking things easy. They aim to keep the winning momentum on their side.
The team has been led by one of the greatest Indian batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar, and he has done a terrific job. The veteran player has scored bulk of runs in the cash rich league and will be eying to finish the season as the top run getter.
