Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is likely to play a couple of matches for English county Essex. The right-arm bowler is in discussions over a deal with the English outfit which could see him in action late in the season. The deal is yet to be finalised
which could feature Harbhajan in the Division Two of the competition.
Due to contractual concerns with the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), the senior Indian spinner will not participate in the ongoing Friends Life T20 championship but he has confirmed his availability when the County Championship will start.
Harbhajan, who has recently played for his state http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). Harbhajan has played 98 Tests for
his country, bagging 406 wickets, and 259 One Day International (ODI) scalps in 229 matches.
The veteran bowler last represented his country on the disastrous English tour last summer before becoming out of favour with the national selectors. The Jullundur player has been discarded from all three formats of the game and is struggling to find his
way back in team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. It is expected that his short spell with Essex could help him gain recognition in the Test side.
Harbhajan is well-familiar with the English conditions, having previously represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Ashwin-c2228, who was dubbed as a replacement for the struggling off-spinner,
hasn’t performed well in recent times and his sudden decline might just make the selectors look at the spin veteran. A good outing with the ball in county circuit could certainly help his cause.

on due to his national commitment with a tour in July.
