Harbhajan Singh may miss Mohali Test to sore hip
Harbhajan Singhmay end up missing the first Test of the series against Australia after having issues with his hip during a warm-up match. India take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in a two-Test match series that starts
from October 1 at Mohali. The Aussies were involved in a warm-up game against the Board President’s XI that ended yesterday. Along with Singh, two other Indian national players were a part of the BP XI – Pragyan Ojha and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Piyush-c82317 Chawla.
Harbhajan Singh looked like he was in trouble while he was bowling in the nets at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali – the venue of the first Test match. Then, according to the PTI, Harbhajan
had to undergo an MRI scan in the pelvis and the hip area. It was reported that nothing serious came out in the scan, but he has been diagnosed with a sprain which means that he will need to rest for a few days. With the Test match only three days away, it
remains to be seen whether Harbhajan will be fit enough to take field.
Harbhajan was laid low during the nets and decided to opt out as he looked to be attended by Nitin Patel, the Indian team physiotherapist. Before and after the break, Harbhajan bowled long spells and it was
only when he begun showing discomfort that he had to retire to rest.
Harbhajan has had fitness issues all throughout this year. In the previous Test series that was played between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, Harbhajan suffered from a viral infection before the start of the first
game and bowled listlessly in the first two games. He had only two wickets to show for his effort. He was then diagnosed with a calf issue and could not play the third Test match that India went on to win. Harbhajan missed the ODI series that followed and
only returned to cricket in the Champions League T20 in September.
