http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453 ready to exploit inexperienced Australian squad – Cricket News Update
Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh, says that the upcoming series will be pose a serious challenge for the inexperienced Australian side, and has further backed his underperforming team to get back on track in the Test format when the series kicks off from
February 22 at Chennai.
The Turbanator earned a second life line this season after being named in the Test squad for the opening two Tests against the tourists. He had been omitted from the final Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 but solid domestic showings placed him back in the reckoning,
where he took 16 wickets in five matches at 32.25 for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 for the Irani Trophy. The 32-year-old remained the most prominent performer, picking up five
wickets to help his team win the match, courtesy a first innings lead.
Like most of his teammates, Harbhajan has struggled for consistency in the longer version, which has further affected their performances at home. However, for the off-spinner, the upcoming series is a perfect stage for the team to prove their mettle at Test
level, by exploiting the inexperience in the Australian squad. Only four members of the touring contingent – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 – have played a Test in India before.
"They have a pretty new batting line-up. Apart from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. This will be a challenging series for them. Hopefully we'll put them under pressure
from the first day of the Test match and show how we play cricket here."
Harbhajan also backed the bowling attack to claim 20 wickets in the match. The bowling composition includes http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566,
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Z-Khan-c98379, who is still struggling for fitness.
"All I can say is that Ishant [Sharma], [Ashok] Dinda, Bhuvan [Bhuveshwar Kumar] and the three spinners - we all have that opportunity and we have the quality to do that."
