The 31-year-old Harbhajan asserted that it is the start of the English off-spinner's career, and he has to do a lot more to prove himself as a leading spinner.
"If I didn't believe in myself, I wouldn't have been playing cricket. And about Swann, well, he has done very well in recent times but he still has a long way to go. Swann only has had only two years of international cricket and it's always easy to do well in the initial phases. The real test begins in the second part and I wish him all the luck for the future," Bhajji stated.
While talking about his own career, the Jullundur-born spinner clarified that he has always been committed to his responsibilities, and tries his best to deliver 100% on the field.
The veteran of 98 Tests and 229 ODIs also showed dissatisfaction over the criticism which he has been facing for bad performance.
“Yes, it does hurt. I'm a player who always gives his 100%. I don't ever take a backward step and it's really disappointing when somebody points a finger. A bad match here and there can happen, but why question a player's commitment?" Harbhajan added.
Recently, the Indian spinner was not right on the target with his bowling during the recently concluded series against England.
He also failed to participate in the complete series due to his injury; however, recently he performed terrifically during the Nokia Champions League Twenty20, and led his side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians, to win the title.
Meanwhile, the attacking spinner also expressed confidence over the support of his team mates, and said that it has always been a motivating factor for him to perform for the country.
