Harbhajan Singh says IPL teammate Andrew Symonds is a ‘great guy’
The prolific India off-spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, as a “great guy”.
The turbanter is sharing the Mumbai Indians dressing room with the Australian all-rounder in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.
"We are playing together for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820. He (Andrew Symonds) is a great guy and is enjoying his moment," said Harbhajan Singh while talking to reporters in Chandigarh.
Harbhajan’s comments came in the wake of reports that the Little Master, Sachin Tendulkar, has helped turbanter and Symonds in resolving the Sydney Test racial row scandal and both are now friends.
The 30-year-old Jalandhar off-spinner also blamed the media for exaggerating the issue and projecting the two as foes.
Harbhajan’s statement has finally brought the "Monkeygate" scandal of the 2008 Sydney Test to an end after three years of irate enmity.
When Bhaji was asked about the reports published in the Sunday edition of an http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 newspaper, he said that he did not read the newspaper and blamed the media for its propensity to rake up the matter.
"We have always been friends. Thanks to all of you (media) for making it such a big news," adding that such altercations happen when the cricketers play the game at that level.
"Every team wants to win. Few words get exchanged during the games, but I left that matter there and then. From there onwards we have been playing together for Mumbai," he further added.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 spinner acknowledged that the Master Blaster did play a role in clearing up the matter and bringing the row to an end.
"It is not just this (Symonds) matter, but he (Tendulkar) has helped me in lot of other matters as well. I am grateful to him," he said.
