Harbor breeze ceiling fan. I installed a new ceiling fan 2 months ago. 1 month ago it started

I installed a new ceiling fan 2 months ago. 1 month ago it started running very slow the capacitor was fried. I then got a replacement fan and within 2 hours the fan slowed down and the capacitor was extremely hot. what could the problem be?
