Harbour Town Golf Links one of the favourite spots for most golf players
Most of the golf players share that the Harbour Town Golf Links is their favourite, after the Augusta National Golf Club.
A Golf World survey was conducted in January, according to which, golfers have two favourite golf courses. On the top, they like to play at Augusta and then at Harbour Town.
Augusta is the site of the major, the Masters Tournament, whereas Harbour Town is the proud host of the RBC Heritage Golf Tournament.
According to the report released from the Golf World survey, Riviera Country Club is the 3rd favourite spot, followed by Pebble Beach Golf Links on the 4th and Colonial is on the 5th favourite position.
The Riviera Country Club and Pebble Beach Golf Links are also the major sites. They are the most difficult courses in the US, but golf players have declared Harbour Town Golf on Hilton Head Island Links, as their second desired venue to play.
The RBC Heritage was established in 1969 and this year will be the 44th episode of the tournament.
The official purse is $5.7 million, out of which the winning share is $1,026,000 and additional 500 FedEx Cup points.
The PGA Tour (Professional Golf Association) staged tournament is played every year in the month of April, right after the Masters Tournament at Augusta, the first major of the year.
Stewart Cink, the famous golf player, who has been playing the Masters since 1997 and the RBC Heritage since 2000, shared his views for the upcoming tournament.
“I don’t use it as a stress-relieving device, but it sure does seem to relieve the stress when I’m out there with the wife and kids and we’re all just having a good time,” Cink said.
He added, “We like to ride our bikes to restaurants. Get the shorts on, because it’s beautiful. Ride our bikes all around the island or all around Sea Pines. Anyway, go out to eat and get there by bike. That’s the best”.
Zach Johnson, another professional golf player, also spoke for the amazing site of the RBC Heritage. He said, “The membership here does a really good job with us, but also with our families, and Hilton Head parallels that”.
Now, the South Carolinian course is gaining more respect and popularity, after such an amazing survey. It is also possible that the Harbour Town Golf Links will attract more tournaments in the near future.
