Hard Disk partition not shown, it shows unpartitioned Disk, what can i do?

I try to re-install Win XP, after my boot form CD, my 4 partitions are not shown, and it show unpartitioned Disk as Full size of Disk, now i want to retrive my data from my old 4 partition.

  1. It means your disk has no partition created its in RAW format, click on the disk then select create partition, you can allocate how big you want  each of the partition, I suggest making c: drive at least 30gb, that where your programs and windows going to be installed, there rest its upto you, also use NTFS filesystem.

  2. It looks like your drive was reformatted so it appears to be in one big clump. That means your data is gone. However to be sure use a LIVE CD boot from Ubuntu to check to see if the 4 partitions still exist. Retrieve the data from the partitions from Linux and then try to install XP

  3. I think you did a bad-bad. Chances are that if you're seeing 1 unpartitioned disk it has been formatted which means your data will be almost impossible to retrieve.

    There are certain software you can use to try and read the raw data, although it can be time consuming. I did so successfully a few years back but I can't remember the name of the program.
