Hard drives always seem to fail just outside the warranty period. I've got a WD5000YS 500gb Caviar with a boatload of irreplacable digital photos stored on it; making the usual click noises and not recognized by the computer. I'm sure the data is still intact on the disk but have no idea how to get it off. What are the odds of recovering?; the most cost-effective way to do that?
