Question:

Hard Gas-Permeable Contact Lenses at a Rock Concert?

by  |  earlier

I will be going to a Rise Against concert with floor tickets. I normally wear them all day, so I don't really have any problems with the comfort, and I can't even feel them much. My eyes are still sensitive to things like wind, dust, and pretty much anything that might get in my eye or make it pop out. Can I wear hard lenses in the rougher parts of the crowd, or will they fall out?

Keep in mind that I have really bad astigmatism, and my lenses cost about $80 each

  1. Hello,

I would suggest wearing a pair of really wrap-around sun glasses, with hardly any darkening to them ('clear,' plain sun glasses).  These will distance your eyes from contact, and also from wind and dust.

If they're clear they shouldn't affect your visual enjoyment of the concert.

I think 'ordinary flat' glasses wouldn't give you all-round protection.

Hope this is of some help.

    Best wishes,
