The Hard Rock Cafe was never on George St. That was Planet Hollywood, which is now the Star Bar. Hard Rock was located on Stanley St, Darlinghurst. It closed down about a year or so ago, I can't tell you exactly when as I was living overseas at the time it closed. The Hard Rock at the Gold Coast is still open and is the only one open in Australia now.
