Hard drive crashed, how do I recover my iTunes files?

I have an iPod with a bunch of songs on it that I would rather not buy again. My hard drive crashed and I was wondering if there was any way to recover my iTunes files without losing everything by Syncing my iPod.

I ran into the same sort of problem when I got a new computer. iTunes wants you to buy them all over again that's why they won't let you take songs from your iPod and put them on the computer. But you can look up programs on google (i forget what i used) They're all freeware that will take all the songs from your iPod and put them back on your computer.

They should have better instructions on the site where you download the program.
