  1. Here's a thought.  I had a hard-starting problem on a Dodge van that was about the age of your truck.  It would crank for about ten seconds, then finally start.  It turned out to be a split rubber hose inside the tank; it went between the pump in the tank to the fuel line outlet on the top of the tank.

I put a pressure gauge on the fuel line just before the pressure regulator and I could see the pressure SLOWLY building up, instead of shooting right up as it should.  That lead me to pulling the tank to test the pump directly, and that's when I discovered the split hose.

Modern fuel-injected, electronic ignition engines usually aren't "hard-starting"; more often they either start or they don't start; so this might just be your problem.  Could be a worn-out fuel pump, or lift pump if you have one, but they usually just burn out instead of getting weak.

    Good luck.

  2. could be a pump...have the pressure checked and check the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel filter

  3. replace the fuel filter add fuel treatment
