Hard to choose between Nozic and Fighting Chance in Warwick Handicap Chase
Warwick Handicap Chase (For the Stephen Allday Perpetual Plate) will be an entertaining show on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Among the participants are: Nozic, Fighting Chance and Ours.
All three runners are well capable of producing a dramatic event. As per the plan, the class-4 meeting is due to commence at 17:05 GMT. The ultimate champion will walk away with a cash prize worth £3,054.
Nozic is most likely to be given the highest starting price. Since the 11-year-old recently clinched an emphatic victory, he seems in good spirits. His triumph came after a few ordinary performances.
On March 12, Nozic surprised everyone by sealing first position in the Plumpton Annual Members Handicap Chase. Despite failing to gain an early advantage, the French gelding improved his work dramatically in the middle to beat his rivals comprehensively.
The punters are likely to put a lot of bets on him. However, one must not forget that Nozic will have to cross many obstacles to grab the glory.
He will be tested by Fighting Chance, who has been consistent over the last few weeks. The 12-year-old started off his New Year campaign on January 18, securing fourth position in the ladbrokes.com Handicap Chase at Southwell.
In his subsequent trip, he came up with an even improved performance. Courtesy of his brilliant run, the veteran gelding managed to secure runner-up place in the Midshire Business Systems Handicap Chase at Warwick.
Following a decent performance at the same venue, Richard Lee’s trainee is in good shape. However, he needs something special to break the shackles. His last triumph came in April last year.
The third and last contender is Ours. The 10-year-old has not been doing anything special over the last few weeks, but that does not take anything away from him.
In both of his previous races, he finished fourth in the list. In today’s race, he requires an extra effort to challenge Nozic and Fighting Chance.
The punters will find it tough to choose between Nozic and Fighting Chance. After his last week´s resurgent Plumpton win, Nozic looks in good position, but the ground is likely to suit Fighting Chance.
