Admiring Dravid’s patience and temperament, Gambhir lamented lack of patience among the young lot of Indian batsmen and feels this was one realistic reason behind India’s back-to-back poor performances in England and Australia.
"The ideals someone like Dravid instills in the team are practice, perseverance and patience,” said Gambhir. “Most youngsters who are either on the brink of playing for the national team or have recently started playing lack the patience.”

batsmen failed to apply themselves properly to the Test format, which requires them to spend more time at the crease.
